Netflix and video game developer CD Projekt Red have released the full schedule for the first-ever WitcherCon, a multi-format event dedicated to The Witcher universe. After its debut in the winter of 2019, The Witcher quickly became one of Netflix’s most-watched original series. Based on the book series by Andrzej Sapkowski, the show follows its titular witcher, Geralt of Rivia (Henry Cavill), a monster hunter who was mutated by magic at a young age. Throughout his travels, Geralt encounters recurring characters in Yennefer (Anya Chalotra), Jaskier (Joey Batey), and season 2 will see Geralt teaming up with Princess Ciri (Freya Allan).

Before Netflix’s popular adaptation, The Witcher was known as a series of role-playing games from CD Projekt Red. Known for its mature content, the video game series has seen three main installments and three spin-offs. The games have been both critically acclaimed and commercially successful, selling over 50 million copies worldwide. With a second season of The Witcher well on the way, Netflix will be collaborating with CD Projekt Red for a virtual fan event.

Now, the full schedule for the first-ever WitcherCon has been unveiled. It includes several interactive panels and peeks at season 2 of The Witcher live-action series as well as the upcoming animated feature film, The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf. Hosted by Julia Hardy, the event will feature panel appearances from series stars Anya Chalotra, Freya Allan, and showrunner Lauren Schmidt Hissrich. To cap off WitcherCon, Cavill himself will sit down with moderator Josh Horowitz for an in-depth discussion of all things fantasy. Check out the full schedule below:
However, CD Projekt has already tempered fan expectations by confirming that a new Witcher game will not be announced at the event. Based on Netflix and CD Projekt’s joint announcement, it sounds like WitcherCon will feature plenty of surprises and sneak peeks related to the upcoming season of The Witcher. However, video game fans have three separate panels to look forward to and the latest details on upcoming comic books and a board game inspired by The Witcher universe.
With production wrapping in early April, The Witcher is in the thick of post-production on season 2. While there have already been a few?looks?at the upcoming season, such as two 10-second teaser trailers, WitcherCon will have many more surprises in store for season 2. The Witcher universe’s first-ever multi-format event will be available to watch on Twitch and YouTube, starting on July 9.
